Tawal to revamp ICT infrastructure of Diplomatic Quarter

The General Authority of the Diplomatic Quarter has recently partnered with integrated ICT Infrastructure service provider Tawal, for the development of the area’s telecommunication infrastructure. The strategic partnership is the first of its kind in Saudi Arabia through which Tawal will manage the ICT infrastructure and mobile network operators to fulfill the requirements of the Diplomatic Quarter (DQ). The agreement was signed by the CEO of the General Authority of the Diplomatic Quarter Dr. Fahad bin Hussein bin Mushayt and CEO of Tawal Mohammed bin Abdul Aziz Alhakbani. The signing was witnessed by several officials and company executives in accordance with agreed-upon precautionary health procedures.

Dr. bin Mushayt stressed the importance of the strategic agreement as an important step that will enable the authority to achieve its goals in developing the DQ into a model city that provides all modern technologies and smart services. He indicated that the agreement came as a result of the authority’s constant keenness to improve the services and facilities available to the neighborhood’s residents and visitors. Dr. bin Mushayt said the agreement is part of a comprehensive development plan that the authority has initiated in order to fulfill its role in representing the Kingdom among the most important regional and international commissions and organizations and in reflecting the best image of the DQ in particular, and the Kingdom in general.

Alhakbani said: “We are optimistic about joining hands with the General Authority of the Diplomatic Quarter for its transformation into a smart city and the role this project will have in paving the way for similar megaprojects in the Kingdom. This is a promising partnership and it will lead to a digital revamp of the area to become an ideal role model for the development of future smart cities, using the best technologies and smart services that rely on 5G technology. We are proud of this strategic partnership and the General Authority’s trust in Tawal’s capabilities to deliver the best innovative solutions that would cater to its needs.”

The agreement is a 10-year contract that is up for renewal.
